Time and attendance systems will require extensive remote and flexible workforce management capabilities

Time and attendance systems will require extensive remote and flexible workforce management capabilities in order to keep with the growing demand across the UK’s workforce, for whom flexible work arrangements and remote working options are a priority.

More than half — 52% — of HR professionals said their companies currently offer flexible work arrangements to at least some employees, according to a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) survey. Even more interesting, SHRM members reported that retention improved when companies simply announced they were launching flexible work arrangements.

In fact, it is believed that employers who offer flexible work schedules will see gains in recruitment and morale, as well as a reduction in turnover.

Furthermore, remote working has also become extremely popular, with the number of increasing by 115% in the last decade.

Multiple research studies have revealed that employees who telecommute report higher morale, lower absenteeism and greater willingness to work overtime. They also demonstrate greater productivity, while saving employers on office space.

However, many executives remain uncomfortable with the idea, and not all jobs or industries lend themselves to telecommuting, but even so, the UK workers’ appetite for this type of option is likely to stay strong.

Time and Attendance UK – suppliers of advanced software solutions equipped with mobile workforce management applications

Our software suite includes a Mobile Self Service Module app, which enables employees to:

-Clock IN or OUT
-Request a period of absence
-View their remaining leave entitlements, recent clocking history and current flexitime balance
-Book ON or OFF production jobs
-Receive notifications when requests are approved or rejected.

Supervisors are able to see subordinate work colleague’s time sheets and approve or deny their absence requests. Management of requests is made easy with the aid of a consolidated calendar showing the absence of all subordinate employees.

The Mobile SSM implements role based security allowing you to easily choose which combination of features employees will have access to. Disabled features, such as the ability to view flexitime, will simply not appear at all.

The application adapts to a sudden loss of connectivity by storing requests on the iPhone. Directly a network connection is re-established any stored information is transferred immediately.
Mobile clockings and job bookings, once submitted, are transferred to the central application and the employee’s geographical position is also ascertained from their iPhone’s location. Employee movements recorded in this manner are plotted on a map viewable in the main application.
