The haulage firm reorganised at Doncaster in September and Eddie Stobart said its pay-off offer was "the best possible financial package". Its managing director David Pickering said it had proposed a 50 per cent increase in statutory redundancy pay. The Unite union said: "The drivers overwhelmingly rejected the financial offer which was designed to get them out the door and not to maintain employment."
